Two first responders from northeast Ohio reflect on their own 9/11 recovery efforts at the World Trade Center

In the days following the September 11, 2001 assaults, hundreds of rescue staff from throughout the nation amassed in New York to assist with rescue and recovery operations. Two of the individuals who had traveled from northeast that night time arrived at the World Trade Center grounds on September 12th.

John Murphy was once dwelling in Hudson at the time after retiring from the New York Fire Department, and Tim Lombardi was once then with the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department and was once additionally a member of FEMA’s Task Force 1.

In December of that 12 months, Frank Youngwerth interviewed Murphy and Lombardi for his “Good Day In Hudson” display on Hudson Community Television.
