CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Passers-by stopped briefly on W. 25th Street in Ohio City early Sunday early morning to search for something brand-new.
In front of them was a bronze sculpture entitled “When I was ill”.
The statue belongs to an art setup called the Matthew 25 Collection; There are an overall of 6 statues by the Canadian artist Timothy Schmalz.
The Jesus statues were meant to motivate discussion to assist individuals in requirement and not to disregard.
Two of the sculptures have actually currently been here: one in the Old Stone Church in Public Square entitled “When I Was Hungry and Thirsty” and one on Fulton Road in the Family Ministry Center entitled “When I Was In Prison”.
Recently set up, one on Saint Malachi Parish on Washington Ave. called “Homeless Jesus”.
In spring 2022, “When I Was A Stranger” will be set up here at The Refugee Response’s head office when the brand-new structure is finished.
