Rotational Molding Advantages and Disadvantages
Rotational molding is a process that uses heat and pressure to create hollow, solid plastic parts. Rotational molding advantages is that it involves the use of a large rotating cylinder called a “mold” to shape and form plastic into products with complex shapes. It actually involves the use of two molds, one stationary and the other rotating.
A molten material (plastic) is injected into the cavity of the stationary mold where it cools and hardens before being ejected by centrifugal force from the bottom of the mold. This cycle repeats until all cavities are filled with solidified material, resulting in a part with uniform thickness throughout its entire length.
Rotational Molding Advantages for Today’s Plastics
Plastic rotational molding has many advantages over other methods of production such as injection molding and blow molding because it can produce complicated shapes in one step without requiring any assembly after production! It creates parts with high strength, low weight, and excellent surface finish. It’s also an environmentally friendly manufacturing method because no solvents or chemicals are required for processing the material. With rotational molding you can produce complex shapes without using expensive tooling or machining processes. You can even make components with moving parts! And if you need to change your design in the future, all you have to do is modify your CAD file and re-run the mold – no new tooling required!
